About Us!
Blending virtuosic talent with a hint of kitsch and comedy, the Belle Air Brass takes music and entertainment to the outer limits where no brass ensemble has gone before. Led by trumpeter Deb Wagner, the acclaimed quintet has been performing in Los Angeles since 1991, including tours ranging from the Women's Jazz Festival in Japan to the Royal Hall of Taipei in Taiwan.
Among its numerous credits, the group released its first CD titled "Simply Struttin'" on Wag Wecords. The CD includes performances by two very special guests—George Segal can be heard singing and playing the banjo on two standards, 'Bill Bailey' and 'Peoria'. Also joining the group is Tony Award Winner Faith Prince who adds her personality to 'Mean to Me' and 'Feets Too Big'
TV appearances include CNN News, CBS This Morning, Today in LA Weekend, AM Arizona, E! Television, and TV shows in Japan, Australia and Taiwan. Live performances include such clients such as the Superbowl, Disneyland, and the World Cup. They opened for Herbie Hancock at Herbie Hancock's Digital Jam, and also for Ron Carter at the first Women's Jazz Festival in Japan. The Belle Air Brass got their start in show business with a winning performance on “The Gong Show” and as a result, were chosen to return for "The Best of the Gong Show".
The Belle Air Brass offers educational programs for levels ranging from primary school to university. The Belle Air Brass was chosen by the Coleman Chamber Music Association to represent them in hundreds of concerts in their “Meet the Musicians” Concert Series.
The women in the group are serious multi-taskers with abilities and skills ranging from baton twirling to tap dancing, singing and soloing to just plain great musicianship. Enjoy them soon!
